Obituary:
Floyd Charles Becker, 72, of Neosho Rapids, Kansas was born September 16, 1939 at Wheaton, Kansas to Richard C. and Mabel Margaret (Stelter) Becker. He passed away January 31, 2012 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. He married Beverly Jane Clark on April 25, 1959 in Lebo, Kansas. She passed away on August 15, 2005.
Mr. Becker was employed by Lyon County Road and Bridge Department as a Lead Truck Driver since September of 1995. He formerly owned Floyd Becker Sand and Gravel. He and his wife previously owned The Spur in Emporia. He loved his grandchildren, gardening and drinking coffee with his friends. Survivors include his mother, Mabel Becker of Emporia, Kansas; son(s), Richard Becker of Emporia, Kansas, Fred Becker of Emporia, Kansas; daughter(s), Linda Wear of Wichita, Kansas and Nancy Swafford of Ottawa, Kansas; brother, Rex Becker of Emporia, Kansas; Sister(s), Diana (Howard) McElfresh of Emporia, Kansas and Connie (Lowell) Uttinger of Lebo, Kansas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, wife and grandson, Eric Stone.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Charter Funerals, 501 West 6th Avenue. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the First Christian Church, 202 East 12th Avenue, Emporia, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Colerick officiating. Interment will be at Key West Cemetery East of Lebo, Kansas.
