We lost a great man this past week. Wayne Emery Stansbury was born on August 13th, 1958. He was born to Freeman and Willia Burroughs. He had 9 living full siblings and 6 half siblings. He was later adopted by Josiah and Zereldia Stansbury. As a child, he was a member of Boy Scout troop 341, where he obtained his Warrior Claws. He attended Raytown school district. He later married and divorced Laurie Giles. They had one son together, Christopher Wayne.

Wayne did construction work the majority of his life. He recently operated as an independent contractor through his own LLC doing remodeling with his brother Gary. He loved going to the lake for many outdoor activities such as fishing, 4 wheeling, camping and hunting. He loved to travel! The last few years his companion has been his dog Twister, whom he loved dearly. Wayne wasn't a man who always got along with the law or even those who he loved but he always meant well. At least in his mind! He had a larger than life personality and was affected by anyone who crossed his path. New folks were known as baybay! The rest of us were affectionately known as sis or bro. On either account, you never had to question if he had your back or not. His intentions were not kept secret! Like most of us, he has lost a lot of folks along the way. Those of us who have been left behind will miss him dearly. We love you bro!! He was preceded in death by both of his sets of parents, his son Christopher and multiple siblings.

Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Monday, August 14, at Charter Funerals, 5000 Blue Ridge Cutoff. Inurnment will take place at Floral Hills Cemetery.

Wayne was such a fun person to know..... Never saw him in a negative or bad mood.
His laugh was totally infectious. That will be greatly missed.
Always glad to see him whenever and for whatever.

Another good one lost but not forgotten
