Obituary

David Paul Lindsey was born on January 22, 1950 in Trenton Missouri to Bill and Billie Lindsey. The family moved to St. Joseph, Missouri when he was a young boy where he graduated from Lafayette High School in 1968. He moved to the Kansas City area in 1972. David married Stacy Spair in 1975 and was the father of two sons, Shawn Lindsey, 41, and Eric Lindsey, 39.

He was the owner and President of several home improvement businesses over a 43-year span.

Dave enjoyed several hobbies. He loved music, sports and trivia. He and his business partner Rick Stroder played on and sponsored a men’s softball team that won several national and local championships through 1989-1994.

He had a passion for studying the Bible and studied nearly every day of his adult life and even authored a book on the subject entitled "The Kinsman’s Code: The Mysteries and Secrets of His Return." He became the Pastor of Grace Church of the Living God in 2008 and retired from the church in 2018 due to his declining health.

The only thing he loved more than his family was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His family was his whole world. He worked hard his entire life day and night to make sure his family was well provided for. He had only one grandchild, his precious Isabelle, who he adored. Dave was a generous and caring man who also loved his many dogs and supported several local Humane organizations as well as other charities.

Dave lost his battle with cancer on November 4th, 2018. He was at home surrounded by his heartbroken family as he left us to go to his Paradise.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Lindsey, mother, Billie Lindsey, nephew, Jeremy Lindsey, sister in law, Diana Lindsey, and father in law, James Spair.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Stacy Lindsey of Kansas City Mo.; two sons Shawn and Eric Lindsey, both of Kansas City Mo.; granddaughter, Isabelle Lindsey; brother, Rick Lindsey of Nixa Mo.; mother in law, Dee Spair of Kansas City, Mo.; grandmother, Patricia Planck of Corpus Christi, Texas; and nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by his earthly family and friends, but I know he is rejoicing in his new life with his precious Jesus and those loved ones who have gone before him. Wait for me at the gate honey, I’ll be there before you know it.

A visitation and memorial service will be held at Charter Funerals, 77 NE 72nd Street, Gladstone MO 64118 on Saturday November 10th with the visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 and memorial service following. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Dave’s name to The American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, 5445 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas 66104.
