Obituary

Ann Redding Schneeberg

Ann passed away Feb. 2nd, 2019 surrounded by family at Heritage Memory Care in Overland Park, KS.

Ann was born Feb. 6th, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to Thomas and Virginia Redding. She lived in Philadelphia for the first 26 years of her life. Ann graduated from the School of the Arts in Philadelphia with a visual arts degree. One of her creative jobs included decorating the windows of the Wanamaker Department Store in downtown Philadelphia.

While an art student, Ann was introduced to her future husband, Bob. A blind date was set up by a mutual professor they had at the School of the Arts. On June 26th, 1957 they married at Ann’s parent’s home. They eventually settled in Levittown, PA where Bob had an at home studio working for Hallmark. In 1962 they welcomed their only child, Liz. In 1976 Hallmark asked Bob to move to Kansas City where their corporate headquarters were located.

Ann was involved in many volunteer activities in Overland Park, KS. One of her favorites was volunteering her time at the Christian Science Reading Room in downtown Overland Park. The local Christian Science church was an important part of her life where she made many life long friends. She also enjoyed reading, word puzzles and helping Bob in his amazing flower gardens. Ann was a wonderful cook and baker. Her family and friends were the lucky recipients of many wonderful meals and baked goods.

Her parents, brother David, and her beloved Bob preceded Ann in death. Daughter Liz, wife Leslie, and the two people who brought such joy to Ann, grandchildren Dash and Zoey, survive Ann. Nieces Ginna, Licia, Sue, Karen and nephew Dave also survive her.

The family suggests donations to The Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or the organization of your choice

Of all my memories of Ann, those that stand out are of her generosity to, support of, and love of her
family. Ann supported my parents by serving as Maid of Honor in their wedding and as godmother of
their first child. Her generosity to her parents included devoting her time to them after they followed
Ann and her family to Kansas. Ann’s love of her daughter expanded to include Liz’s family, sharing
their lives and especially by providing full-time daycare when Dash and Zoey were very young. I’ll
miss Ann, most of all her gentleness and bemused smile.

Such a lovely tribute to Ann Although distance made it difficult for us to know Ann really well, we do
have fond memories of the wonderful meals, and caring, genuine interest she had with all the
family when we came to town! She definitely played a vital role in helping shape your wonderful family into the great people they are. Her lovely personality is sorely missed by all. Rest In long deserved peace, Ann.

I share my sister Susan's memories of good times and great dinners at Bob and Ann's house in
Levittown. As well as a great cook, Ann was also a talented artist; many of the works around their
house were her creations, as well as Bob's. Ann was a warm and gracious host and I always looked
forward to our families' times together. I'm so glad to have been reunited with Liz in recent years and
to know her terrific family. I hope we share more times together.

I remember many wonderful dinners at Anne's table as I was growing up. I always looked forward to
Bob's gardens and Anne's cooking. WE laughed a lot too. While I hadn't seen Ann in too many
years,I know how much she will be missed.
