Mike DePriest died at age 65 at his home in Independence, Missouri. Mikes' birthday was on the
4th of July. Mike's parents were Robert and Orphia DePriest. He had been diagnosed with lung
cancer just 6 short months before his death. Mike leaves behind a wife Ella of 17 years, son
Robert, daughter Erin, grandson Andrew (Andy) Sister Dianna and numerous Nieces and
Nephews. Two cats and dirty rain gutters. ;-). Mike attended Raytown Highschool. Mike liked
fishing, football, ~Dallas, or Green bay~ (sorry KC fans) he especially loved Collage sports; the
players always seemed to him to have more heart than the pros did. The tv was on 24/7 and
generally on Law and Order, Criminal Minds or NCIS. He was not a real organized man however,
he would not admit it. Mike loved going out to eat and the Mugs up on 23rd street, he held very
fond memories of childhood; going there with his Parents or Grandparents. He loved to recall the
antics of childhood and teenage years. Mike was very patriotic and very politically challenging.
He believed in the constitution and divine intervention. He would not always agree with you or
your point of view but, he would defend to the death your right to maintain your point of view even
if it was different from his. Mike loved to listen to Oral Roberts preach and in later years Oral's
son. Mike kept trying to grow milkweed plants for the butterflies and was quite frustrated that he
just could not make it happen, so he grew apple trees. Mike was an American and damn proud of
    it. Blessings to all.

Michael was one of those guys that was a teacher. When I got into the tool business Michael was my
resource to find out how things worked properly and how to use the tool. He was a fun person to talk
to and be around. The world just lost a great man. My sincere sympathy to his wife and family.
