I will miss Uncle John. He was a kind & loving man with a sweet smile. I think one of his
greatest attributes was wanting to make people happy. He made my Aunt Barb feel so loved
& happy, and he lived to make her smile. Uncle John would do anything to see others smile
and enjoy themselves, that's something that didn't go un-noticed. His love for Aunt Barb &
their children was deep. And altho he'll be missed terribly, he's more alive now than ever!
Heaven is a real place, a place we should all should strive to dwell. Life here on this earth is
temporary, but Heaven is eternal. Uncle John knew that Jesus & God were real and that God
loved him. Uncle John prayed for his family & trusted Him to keep them and to watch over
them. He now knows the eternal reward of accepting Jesus as your Lord & Savior! I pray that
we all come to know Jesus as well. And Uncle John will be there waiting when we make our
way to Heaven if we accept Jesus too. My heart goes out to my family, extended family, and
to my sweet & precious Aunt Barb, whose heart & arms have always been open & ready to
love on and care for anyone who comes near. A true love story! :-)
I love you Aunt Barb & family ♡

    Laura (Foster) Garrett, Belleville, IL.

We love our Johnny so much, he was the sweetest guy
and best neighbor you could ever ask for. We will forever
miss the 'love you baby' as a greeting or a goodbye. He's
one of a kind. We will always be just a hill away from you
Barb anytime you need anything. Love you both.

John, you were like a second father to me, a man that I
loved and respected. I will always remember the love you
had for me and how you treated me like one of your own.
You had a way about you when you listened to me and we
would talk that showed me how much you cared and I was
important to you. I will always treasure those moments.

Barb & Family - my heart hurts for the loss to your family,
but there is comfort in knowing the close bond you all have.
Prayers for you all and please know that I love you all and
am there if ever you need anything.

Rest In Peace John, you’ll always be my Captain.
