I never shared this with anyone so here is letting the cat out of the bag. When Oh I was about eight years old or so I was on my way to church (the one on s. Arundel) and I ran into David (not my cousin then) and asked him if he had any change. He reached into his pocket and gave me all the change he had. You talk about a happy little girl ! I ran to the Alvarados and spent that money on bag of candy and then went to church. I shared it of course with the other kids I had to get rid of it before I went home or I would of probably got a good tanning from my mom if she ever found out that I asked David for money. So David in case I didn't say thank you, "Thank You" I will cherish that memory and our secret.

Uncle David, you were one the best men I have ever
known. You were gentle, kind and caring. I always
admired your ability to eat the hottest chilies without
breaking a sweat! You ate them like they were
candy. Thank you for being a part of my life. Rest in
peace and when you see my Grandma Lola please
hug her and tell her I miss her.

I knew David when we worked together at the Fanastil packing house in Emporia. He was the hardest worker I have ever known and a special friend with a big heart. He make work fun with his wonderful sense of humor. I was so lucky to be invited to go with him to Omaha, Nebraska to visit his brother and ride in the big blue Chevy station wagon. But the best part was his company and his jokes. I will always remember Dave and our friendship, he was such a good family man. My sympathy to Dave's family with all my respect.

My memories of my uncle are still so fresh in my memory. While Joan and David lived in Dumas,Texas, I know I must of been under the age of 5yoa, but I remember most that Uncle David always made me feel special and important. As many of you remember I'm Patsy daughter, with the Blonde Hair! Uncle David gave me the nickname Blondie, and I will always remember how that made me feel so special! I remember the blue dodge pick-up truck they had and he would always gives us kids "tools," to help work on it! I remember those times as such happy memories for me as a small child! You made an impact on me Uncle David always so kind and loving! You will be missed.
